Practice is a practice

The last time I started diving into working in the design industry, I made a pretty fundamental mistake: I tried to do it alone. This time around, I'm jumping back into talking to other designers. Or at this point, listening.

I've been trying to keep up with daily design practices by finding Youtube Designers who share their insights. Recently I listened to this artist who goes by Struthless; his video The Drawing Advice that Changed My Life really made me think: Stop thinking and just draw something already! So here we are, after 7 days of drawing feet (because who doesn't secretly dream of designing footwear) and I couldn't be more ready to move on. Now, what have we learned after attempting to draw the same thing over and over again?

You get bored. But that was a tipping point, because committing to drawing feet made me commit to drawing. Period. And that's all I can ask of myself! In terms of the logistics, I varied how long I took per sketch, starting a 1 minute each day 1 and working my way down to consistent 30 second intervals. After 7 days, I couldn't help but move onto drawing lasts to avoid dealing with toes anymore.

In my experience, drawing is all about having ~confidence~, and nailing down foot proportions really boosted mine.
